WHAT BEGAN ALONG TWO RIVERS
A Descendant’s Reflection
What began along two rivers flows through me.
Their stories move gently through the years,
weaving those who walked before
into the life I live now.
These are the faces I know in pieces—
a familiar smile, a certain gaze,
the warmth of a hand,
a grace inherited across generations.
All are descendants of Silvia Hector Webber and John Ferdinand Webber,
who journeyed from the Colorado River to the Río Grande,
seeking a place where love and freedom could take root.
This gallery is their quiet echo—
a reminder that our being here is no accident.
Kinship brought us forward
and has held us, unbroken.
I stand here because they built a home
where tenderness could endure
and where resilience grew deep enough to reach me—
and for me to reach back.
I carry their legacy forward—
with remembrance,
with gratitude,
and with the quiet grace they left in us.
